The Flight Centre Tower at the $600M mixed-use Southpoint development at South Bank is quickly taking shape in a prime location at the southern end of Grey Street, with completion well on track for late 2016.
South Bank Corporation’s CEO Jeff Weigh recently toured the site and took this photograph from the top floor on level 15. He was amazed by the views that more than 2,500 Flight Centre employees will be greeted with daily.
“Who wouldn’t want to come to work with a view like this?” Weigh said. “Flight Centre is Australia’s largest retail travel operator and a major player in the international travel arena...naturally, there is a great synergy between South Bank, which draws over 11 million visitors annually and Flight Centre, which is in the business of selling holidays and destinations.
“It’s fitting that Flight Centre selected Southpoint and the South Bank precinct as the base for its global headquarters.”
“The influx of an additional 2,500 employees into the South Bank precinct presents enormous opportunities for the precinct’s retail and dining tenants and reinforces South Bank’s position as not an extension of the CBD but very much part of the Brisbane CBD.”
Southpoint is a $600m master-planned development by the highly acclaimed Brisbane-based developer, Anthony John Group. Southpoint will feature three towers comprising 413 residential apartments, Brisbane’s second luxury boutique Emporium Hotel, and the A-Grade commercial Flight Centre Tower.
