Michael Carey

Director

Michael is the Under Treasurer of Queensland. Prior to this appointment, he served as the Associate Director-General of The Cabinet Office, Department of the Premier and Cabinet and the Chief Executive Officer of Trade and Investment Queensland.

Michael has also held senior roles in the Department of the Premier and Cabinet Queensland Treasury, and the Department of State Development.

With a passion for public service and significant experience advising the Queensland Government, as well as work in the private sector, Michael brings a wealth of knowledge to the Board.

Michael holds a Masters degree in public policy from the University of Oxford, a Bachelor of Arts and Law from the Queensland University of Technology, and a Bachelor of Commerce, Politics and Public Policy from Griffith University.

Michael is eager to work with the Board and Staff at South Bank to ensure the precinct continues to be a world-class destination for all to enjoy.
