More than thirty years on from World Expo ’88, South Bank continues to be one of the state’s most iconic destinations and a globally recognised riverside precinct.
The Future South Bank Master Plan sets out a blueprint for the long-term evolution of the precinct, guiding opportunities to renew and improve areas we know and love, rethink and reimagine how we experience key spaces and places, and importantly how we protect and celebrate the iconic and most popular aspects at the very heart of South Bank.
The community helped shape the Future South Bank Master Plan with more than 25,000 pieces of feedback received from thousands of people online and in person at our ideas fiesta, pop-up events, stakeholder meetings and workshops.
South Bank Corporation is now actively planning towards advancing a number of operational initiatives outlined in the master plan and will continue to work closely with the Queensland Government in bringing the Future South Bank Master Plan to life.
Future projects that realise the Future South Bank Master Plan are subject to South Bank Corporation and Queensland Government consideration, precinct opportunity, funding availability and approvals.
