The Clem Jones Promenade is one of South Bank’s most popular locations, and one of our city’s most well-used river edges with around four million people using the promenade each year.
Due to the age of the promenade, South Bank Corporation is undertaking essential renewal works to ensure it continues to be a central element in Brisbane’s riverfront pedestrian network. South Bank Corporation has engaged Duratec Limited as the design and construct contractor.
The Clem Jones Promenade Renewal Project will involve:
Works will start on 1 October 2024 and continue through to mid-2025, subject to weather and construction conditions.
Works will take place from Monday to Friday, between 7am and 5pm.
Due to the nature of the work taking place in the Brisbane River, works will be influenced by changing tidal conditions. As a result, some work outside of these hours will be required to accommodate tidal shifts.
South Bank’s River Quay Pontoon (South Bank 3 Ferry Terminal) will remain open and can be booked by commercial operators for 30-minute bookings via our What’s On website. For non-commercial vessels, information about public river and recreation hubs, boat ramps, canoe ramps and pontoons is available via the Brisbane City Council website.
